Health and Welfare Benefits

 
Kia pays 100% of the premiums for you and your family. We offer two medical plan options - a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) and a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO). The availability of plans is determined by your home zip code.
 
Kia pays 100% of the premiums for you and your family. We offer two dental plans a PPO and a HMO. The HMO availability is determined by your home zip code.
 
Kia pays 100% of the premiums for you and your family. Our vision plan is a PPO plan and offers in-network and out of network coverage for eye exams, lenses, frames and or contact lenses.
 
Kia provides Basic life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance coverage at 2x your base annual salary at no cost to you.
 
To supplement the company-paid Basic Life and AD&D insurance, you can purchase additional life insurance at a minimum of $10,000, in increments of $10,000 up to $500,000 maximum. You are responsible for the cost of this benefit.
 
Voluntary Life Insurance is available for your spouse from a minimum of $10,000, in increments of $10,000, up to 100% of your benefit to a $300,000 maximum. You are responsible for the cost of this benefit.
 
Voluntary Life Insurance for child(ren) is available for $2,000, $5,000 or $10,000. You are responsible for the cost of this benefit.
 
Short-term disability (STD) coverage is designed to provide a portion of your income if you are disabled and can no longer work. Kia pays the full cost of this benefit by paying premiums to the insurance carrier. STD benefits begin the 8th day of injury or illness. The STD benefit will pay up to 60% of your weekly pre-disability earnings.
 
Long-term disability (LTD) coverage is designed to provide a portion of your income if you are disabled and can no longer work. Kia pays the full cost of this benefit by paying premiums to the insurance carrier. LTD benefits begin on the 91st day of disability and will pay up to 60% of your monthly pre-disability earnings.
 
A healthcare flexible spending account allows you to direct part of your pay on a pre-tax basis into a special account that may be used throughout the year to reimburse yourself for eligible out-of-pocket healthcare expenses.
 
A dependent care flexible spending account allows you to direct part of your pay on a pre-tax basis into a special account that may be used throughout the year to reimburse yourself for eligible out-of-pocket dependent care expenses.

This program is available to you and your household members at no cost and is designed to help you manage those unexpected life events.

Retirement Plan

 
The Kia Motors America, Inc. 401(k) Plan is open to all eligible team members beginning the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment. You are eligible to receive safe harbor matching contributions on the first day of the month following 6 months of service, with a company match of 100% up to 6% of the salary deferral. Your contribution and match are always 100% vested.

Time-Off

 
Kia celebrates 13 paid holidays throughout the year, which includes shutdown in December.
 
To help in balancing needs of both our personal and professional lives, Kia offers 14-19 days of annualized PTO which accrue on a semi-monthly basis. Amounts based on position level.

Employee Perks

 
All Kia team members are eligible to lease up to 3 vehicles (based on having a driving record in good standing) with all insurance and maintenance included in the lease price.
 
Kia allows team members plus their family and friends to purchase new Kia vehicles at near dealer cost. Kia members also have the option to purchase off-lease vehicles at reduced prices through Kia.
 
KMA team members who have been with KMA for at least one year may be reimbursed for tuition, books, registration, lab fees and other related costs.
 
Reimbursement requests are for KMA team members who do not have access to the Corporate Fitness Center.
